I’ve been so busy lately that I’ve gotten into the habit of not checking my calendar until a day or two before. After spending years only having to worry about drop-off and pick-up times for pre-school, my schedule went from zero to sixty about 18 months ago and I started to get overwhelmed. I would look at what was coming up for a week or two and curl into the fetal position. When I feel overwhelmed I just shut down, so in order to cope I started putting blinders on and taking things one day at a time.
So, I had completely forgotten that I’d be spending a couple hours tomorrow on Sesame Street. That’s right, the Sesame Street, with the Muppets and Big Bird and Snuffy and the “real people” I grew up watching. I’ll be visiting the Sesame Street set in Astoria, Queens.
I had the good fortune to meet a couple of Muppets back when I first started blogging, and it was an amazing experience. The “Muppeteers” who work them and do their voices are some of the most talented people I’ve ever come across. I can’t wait to see who turns up tomorrow! I have no idea who is going to be there. But I’ve already decided that it was one of the best days of my life.
