I just found out from Hormone Colored Days that Wal-Mart still has a joke on its website about shoppers getting run over on Black Friday (I don’t know if it’s still there but Hormone Colored Days has a screenshot of it). Now of course this was written before Black Friday, but shouldn’t it have been taken down after an employee was trampled to death on Long Island?
It doesn’t bother me on the level that it’s bothering some other people. It was obviously meant as a joke and the person writing it had absolutely no way of knowing what would happen. But I’m just amazed that in this day and age, when the whole Motrin Moms mess was Twittered around the world in a flash and brought tons of bad publicity for Motrin, that someone at a company as big as Wal-Mart isn’t in charge of monitoring their site and making sure that things like that don’t happen! I mean really, does Wal-Mart need any more bad publicity? I have no love for Wal-Mart, so I would be happy to see them go up in flames. But since that’s unlikely to happen in this lifetime, I’d rather they get their act together.
