I’m having a bit of a Star Wars week. A couple days ago I got to play around with the new Star Wars Jedi Challenges AR game, and today I found out that soon, I’ll be able to make Darth Vader (or one of his Stormtroopers) vacuum my house, with a Star Wars Darth Vader or Stormtrooper robotic vacuum cleaner from Samsung.
Available now, these two limited-edition Samsung POWERbot robotic vacuum cleaners will be shipped by the week of November 6th, according to the website.
Built on top of the Samsung VR7000 POWERbot model, these new versions have a custom cover that dresses the robot up as either Darth Vader or a Stormtrooper. They use Visionary Mapping™ Plus to map rooms and find the fastest cleaning routes, and can navigate around objects as small as 10mm using the FullView Sensor™ 2.0. And both have fun Star Wars sounds – the Darth Vader vac even mimics Vader’s creepy heavy breathing!
Harnessing the power of the Dark Side to clean your floors doesn’t come cheap, but at least the more expensive Darth Vader version has WiFi and can be controlled via Alexa or Google Home.
