I know I’m supposed to be all “Blah, today’s Monday, I don’t want to go back to work!” and to be honest I had a rather terrible morning, but I’m putting all of that out of my mind because I’ve been looking forward to today for a while. I get to do on-camera interviews with five cast members from the original Willy Wonka movie, plus the director, Mel Stuart. They’re doing press for the release of a 40th anniversary DVD of the classic movie. I’m wearing make-up and everything.
The rest of today will be the usual. Not unpleasant, just not “So what was it like to work on a set made of candy?” exciting. :-) I started a two-week trial this morning of Slim Fast shakes. Slim fast has given me enough shakes, meal bars and snack bars to follow their plan: two shakes or bars each day, plus three snacks, and then I eat a dinner of about 500 calories. I’m curious to see how it goes.
I had a chocolate shake around 8:30 and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. It was delicious. And I don’t mean “It was delicious – for a diet shake.” It was delicious, period. The big question now is, will it keep me full for long enough? So far so good. If I have a snack around 11:30 I should be fine until I get home around one and have another shake, so this just has to keep me full for another ninety minutes.
