I’m going to start this out by saying that I can’t even pretend this Parenting Bytes episode is about me or anything having to do with me. You people know me too well for that. I do not want to spend the summer taking my kids places and keeping them engaged. That’s what sleepaway camp is for.
But of course I recognize that sleepaway camp is not an option for everyone. Maybe you can’t afford it. Maybe there are no good sleepaway camps in your area. Maybe you actually like spending all day with your children. Whatever the reason, we had Babette Roberts on the latest show to talk about how she keeps her boys engaged all summer. She has some excellent advice that also applies to family trips!
Welcome to another episode of Parenting Bytes! We’re in the NYC studio today with Rebecca Levey, Amy Oztan, and Andrea Smith, and special guest Babette Roberts, who is here to talk about her website, Camp Mom, and how she keeps her two sons engaged in the summer. Plus, the four of us discuss when too much screen time becomes an addiction, and the PBS documentary Web Junkie. And our Bytes of the Week!
