We took Fiona and Jake to a birthday party yesterday. They were both very excited. Fiona even made an awesome birthday card for the birthday boy, who was turning 2 (first picture).
The three cakes at this party – all made by the guest of honor’s grandmother – have nothing to do with this story, except that I couldn’t NOT include a picture of them, because they were amazing (second picture).
When we got there, Jake – who was twice as big and much older than all of the other kids there – started mixing it up with the boys. Fiona, the only girl, grabbed a candy necklace kit and sat down. She calmly did her little activity, taking no notice of the chaos swirling right around her (third picture).
Girls and boys. Sugar and spice, snips and snails.
