My daughter Fiona is in her ninth set of Invisalign trays. Her treatment was sped up at her last orthodontist visit since everything was going well, and she’s now switching to a new set of trays every ten days. And I can already see improvement!
The top picture was taken before Fiona started her treatment in October, and the bottom picture was taken yesterday. Her two front teeth are almost straight!I asked her if she had anything to say, and she said her trays have all been feeling really loose after just a few days lately. Basically that means that her teeth are moving to each new position pretty fast!
The thing I was most worried about when she started was that she would lose her trays. I mean, she’s lost two pairs of glasses in the past year. But amazingly, she hasn’t lost a single tray, despite the fact that I keep seeing her put them in napkins when she’s eating (she’s supposed to put them in their case so that they don’t get thrown out accidentally).
We have had to make a few adjustments to our morning routine. Before Invisalign, Fiona would usually leave for school with a cup of hot tea in one hand and a piece of toast in the other. But she didn’t want to deal with putting her Invisalign back in on the way to school, so now I pack her a little baggie of cereal and she eats that at school before her first class. And the tea doesn’t happen anymore, which is probably for the best since she put so much sugar in it!
All in all this has gone really smoothly, and the credit for that goes to Fiona. And I know that seeing obvious progress so soon is helping her to keep up the good work!
