October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so I’ve got two easy ways for you to raise money to help fight Metastatic Breast Cancer. And all you have to do is post pictures—someone else donates the money!
Bake It Happen
The first way is through the Bake It Happen fundraiser, which my friend Shari and her sister Stacey started to honor their mother, who died from breast cancer. We had Shari and Stacey on the Parenting Bytes Podcast a couple of years to talk about it, and we’ve updated that episode with new information for this year’s fundraiser. You can listen to that at the bottom of this post!
I’ll be posting again this year, but in the meantime, you can check out my posts from past Bake It Happen fundraisers and find out how to get the recipes:
- Bake It Happen and raise money for breast cancer research!
- Bake It Happen for charity and someone else will donate the money!
- How to raise money for cancer research by sharing a picture
- Black Bottom Cupcakes for charity with Bake It Happen!
- Please help Bake It Happen for breast cancer research!
The second easy way to raise money for Metastatic Breast Cancer is by posting a picture of yourself doing the “thriver pose.” For every picture or video posted publicly on social media with the hashtag #MoreForMBC, Eli Lilly and Company will donate $100 (up to $225K!) to help the MBC community. You can get more info on the More For MBC Facebook page.
You can see examples of the thriver pose posts on Twitter and on Instagram, and a whole segment about the post and the fundraiser from this morning’s Good Morning America. And you’ll be able to see my pictures on my Twitter and Facebook feeds later today. Do I like yoga? Not especially. But will I post a yoga pose in order to raise money to help cancer patients? You betcha! Two great ways to raise money for Metastatic Breast Cancer research, and you dont have to give a dime! #BakeItHappen #MoreForMBCClick To Tweet
