My husband and I should never have had kids. I mean, we’re good parents, but we were definitely rolling the genetic dice by reproducing. We are both so hairy that really, it was just cruel to assign a similar fate to our offspring.
Our son was born hair first. Seriously, he was stuck in the birth canal for almost an hour, with my husband telling me “Push! I can see the hair!” So we really never put a hat on him in hot weather. We would put sunscreen on him, but a hat would have made him too hot, and absolutely no scalp was unprotected by his helmet-like hair. He didn’t even have a part, just a thick, impenetrable head of hair.
So how did we have a blond daughter? She’s gorgeous, with her little curls, but she ruined our chances of getting a family discount for laser hair surgery. And we had to buy a lot of hats.
The Little Hat Company has some really cute ones, and they’re giving one away to one of you! The winner can choose from any of their “Big Kid Lids” which are sized for 6-7-year-olds.
These two are my favorites, but you get to choose from about a dozen hats if you win. And even if you don’t win, their Stroller Lids are on sale through August, buy one get one free!
To enter, just leave a comment on this post estimating how many kids’ hats you’ve gone through over the years. Please feel free to comment as many times as you like, but only one comment per person will count for the drawing. Winner will be chosen by Random.org. Prize can be shipped only to the United States, Canada, or Mexico. The contest will end at noon on Thursday, August 7th.
