If you buy something from one of the linked sites you won’t pay anything more, but I might make a commission.
I spend a lot of money online. A lot. But I would spend even more if I didn’t have to pay for shipping.
I thought that if a website charged for shipping, that’s was it, you had to pay it. But then I found out about FreeShipping.com, which allows me to shop without paying for shipping, AND gives me 10% cash back on my order from most of their stores too! On holidays they even run 20% cash back deals.
Some stores also have coupons that you can stack on top of the 10% cash back and free shipping.
And every item you buy qualifies for price protection.
Let me explain, because I did a LOT of shopping this past weekend through FreeShipping.com to check out all they have to offer (that’s right, I’m just selfless that way).
FreeShipping.com is a site where you pay a low monthly fee in exchange for free shipping and free returns. And just about all of those sites give you 10% cash back on your order too! That’s way more than sites like eBates. (I love eBates, and still use them if I’m shopping on a site that isn’t on FreeShipping, but come on, 10% cash back beats 3 or 4% by a lot.)
The way it works is this:
Join: You go to FreeShipping.com and sign up. You’ll get a 7-day trial for $2. If you decide to keep your account after that, you’ll pay $13 a month. If that seems like a lot, I guess it depends on how much you shop online. Every year since I’ve joined I’ve gotten back hundreds of dollars, so it’s been totally worth it for me.
Shop: You search the site for a store, and then go to that store’s site to shop. Make sure that you’re accessing the store from the FreeShipping.com site, or your membership won’t work!
Apply Coupons: You can still use coupon codes, even if you’re getting cash back.
Check Out: If the site has free shipping, you just check out like normal. If the site charges for shipping, you can apply for a rebate of up to $10 per order to get that money back!
Get Cash: Once your order ships, your cash back will be put in your Savings Center account on FreeShipping.com. At the end of each quarter, you’ll get a check with your cash back savings!
Return: If you need to make a return and the store charges you, you can get a rebate of up to $10 per order for returns, as long as you made the order through FreeShipping.
Save More: If you find the same exact item for less within 90 days of your purchase – online OR offline – you can get a rebate of up to $100 for the difference in price!!
Here are some of the ways I’ve already saved with FreeShipping.com:
Store #1: Savings for Everyday Items
I shop at Bed Bath & Beyond a lot. I buy my SodaStream supplies there, and my husband’s coffee–staple items that we buy at least once a month. Just by accessing the store via FreeShipping.com, I qualified for 10% back on the order I was going to put in any way!
Store #2: Coupons AND Cash Back
I’ve wanted a second Christmas tree in our upstairs parlour for years. We always get a real tree for our living room downstairs, but I wouldn’t want to mess with two real trees. Well, last night I finally decided to pull the trigger. A friend had recommended the trees at Kmart, and I found one that I loved at a good price, on sale for $214.19. I applied a coupon that I’d found on FreeShipping.com, which brought the price down to $192.77. And when my order ships, I’ll get cash back of $19.27, bringing the price of my tree down to $173.50, a savings of more than $40 off of that one item! Shipping on the site was free. And you know that I’ll be checking back to see if my tree goes on sale even more after Christmas, because I can apply for a rebate!!
Store #3: Free Shipping Upgrade
I searched for Aerogarden on FreeShipping.com this morning and was thrilled that it was there, because I was about to buy another Aerogarden for myself, and one for my mom, and some other supplies. Whoo-hoo! 10% cash back on a big order! And shipping was already free on their site today.
But then, while checking out, I noticed that I could upgrade my shipping from 5-10 days to 3-5 days for $6.95. Hmm. Would that qualify for a shipping rebate, or does that only apply to the lowest shipping cost? I got on the phone to FreeShipping.com and the very nice customer service rep told me that yes, I could apply for a rebate for upgraded shipping of up to $10! So duh, of course I upgraded! I’ll be getting more than $16 cash back, and a rebate of $6.95 for faster shipping! On top of the BOGO 50% deal Aerogarden.com is running today, I saved more than $60!
This is a website that I will be using a lot. I just wish I’d known about it years ago!!
