Today will be filled to the brim with something I hate to do: labeling clothes. I’m sending my kids to sleep-away camp in a few days, and absolutely everything they take with them has to be labeled. Everything.
We also have to go to Modell’s and buy the sports stuff that we couldn’t get at Target. My kids are left-handed and we couldn’t find the correct baseball glove for Jake (Fiona can’t throw well with either hand so is it terrible that I’m sticking her in a $10 right-hand-throwing pink T-ball glove?). Plus a cup, mouth guard, skateboarding pads (we let him skate with just a helmet, but the camp – which has a pretty fierce skate park – will not).
Plus I’m sure when I finally dig the crinkled marked-up packing list out of my purse I’ll see that we forgot a few things yesterday. So, day two of camp packing will consume me. Thank goodness the weather is shitty. I won’t have to feel bad that we’re all inside.
UPDATE: I think I’d put this homework assignment out of my head because I knew it would be difficult, but I’m going to work on this today too. If you have time, do your own. Time is precious.
