OK, the contest is finally over, and I’m exhausted. And I’m sure there are a few people out there who will never talk to me again, and scores more will who roll their eyes and hit delete every time they see an email from me from now on. What can I say? I wanted to win.
And if I don’t win, I can at least say that I did EVERYTHING I could. I emailed people who probably were saying to themselves “Who the hell is this and how did she get my email?” I twittered, facebooked, and youtubed until my fingers were sore. I made my daughter beg online. I bugged friends and family and got many of you to sign up for a Facebook account after you said you’d never get one. I walked a bunch of you through it on the phone and over email and messaging. I badgered neighbors. And at least three people were woken up in pursuit of getting more pictures. So sorry!
So thanks to everyone who helped! Even to the couple of you who got your pictures in a few minutes late, I appreciate the effort! And to the dozen of you who emailed me in the past hour saying that you had planned on doing it and forgot or overslept or didn’t realize the deadline was today, I’ve got you on my list of people who are willing to help me but need me to bug them even more! You’ve made your beds…
I won’t know if I’ve won until all of the other bloggers have had their turns and Quaker announces the winner. A little detective work suggests that I’m comfortably in the lead, but who knows? There could be a blogger next week even crazier than I am who is even more willing to alienate friends and family in pursuit of a little glory. But I hope not!
Whatever happens, someone will get $5,000 to help feed people, and that’s what’s important. Besides the $5,000, Quaker also wants to donate up to 1,000,000 bowls of oatmeal – you can go back to the Quaker facebook page and enter in Quaker UPC codes – each one entered gets another bowl of oatmeal donated! Don’t worry if you can’t find a UPC, they’ve got one on the page for you to use.
Now I need to go pay attention to my family to make up for the complete lack of attention they got for the past day and a half because of this contest!
