I’ve been blogging since 2006, and somehow, in all of that time, my food photography didn’t get any better. And then, I signed up for a food photography course that changed my life!
Before and After
Does that sound dramatic? Look at the before and after pictures below, and keep in mind that I haven’t even finished the Beyond Baking Bootcamp yet! I can’t imagine how much better my food pictures will be once I’ve gotten through all of the lessons.
If you sign up for this course through one of my links, I might make a commission, but I’m also going to tell you how to save $100 off of the course, so everybody wins!
Before BBB I’d given up
The picture on the left was something I posted on Instagram a couple of years ago. I’d made the bagels from scratch, so I’m proud of that at least.
But I thought that the picture itself was the best I would ever be able to do. I mean, after fourteen years, after trying to Google my way to some kind of basic skill, I’d kind of given up, and just decided that taking good pictures of my bakes was not something I’d ever be able to do. I’d convinced myself that I just didn’t have the eye, and couldn’t learn.
But that meant that my Pinterest and Instagram accounts were going to remain stalled. I didn’t think I’d ever be able to change that. And if you’re a food blogger, you know how important those sites are!
BBB to the rescue!
And then I found Beyond Baking Bootcamp. I had to stop somewhere between one-third and one-half of the way through the course because of some things that needed attention at home, but I can go back any time and complete the course. Plus, there’s a private Facebook group for everyone who’s taken the class, and I can post my pictures there for feedback.
When I look at the difference between the before and after pictures, I want to cry! I spent so many years littering my blog with ugly photos of foods that I didn’t know how to style or light. I had no idea which settings to use on my camera, or how to use props.
The course has already taught me what equipment I need (nothing expensive), how to get the most out of both my phone and my “real” camera, how to set things up, and how to edit (both on my phone and on a computer). I’m really excited to learn even more!
How to sign up and save $100
So how can you get in on this amazing course? A new session is starting soon, and you can sign up by clicking here. And if you use the code “100OFF” you’ll get $100 off of the cost of the course!
It’s not just for food bloggers, either. There were people in my class who sold cookies and cakes, and one who wanted to be a professional food photographer!
Now I’m trying to decide whether to add new content to my site, or go back and make completely new pictures for my top posts, so that they’ll be shared more. But first, I’m finishing the course!
I’m happy to answer any questions you might have. You can leave a comment here, or email me.
