Hi there, I’m Amy, founder of Selfish Mom, now known as Amy Ever After (that’s my old Selfish Mom header up there). I’m also a freelance writer and podcaster. I spend a lot of time on Twitter and Facebook, but here are some other contact options if you need to get a hold of me. I also love making videos and taking pictures!
I’ve been blogging since 2006, first on a local real estate blog, then on my long-neglected but much-loved site Filming In Brooklyn, and then for the past ten-plus years right here. I’ve co-created and co-hosted two popular podcasts, including Parenting Bytes, a wildly successful podcast about raising kids in the digital age, which is still going strong. I’ve written for many websites, such as Tom’s Guide, Laptop Magazine, Redbook, Motto, Garnet News, and NJ Family. I’ve been quoted on numerous news sites, including the New York Times, CNN, ABC News, and MSNBC. I’ve appeared on The Today Show, the WPIX Morning Show, and HuffPost Live. Time Out New York Kids named me a Blogger to Watch. Working Mother named me one of the fifteen most powerful moms in social media. And a while back I was named Funniest Mom on Twitter by Babble.com (they removed the article after some restructuring, but The Wayback Machine still has it).
I love to bake, sing, and garden. And sleep. Man, do I love naps. I have two teenagers and a husband, none of whom want to be talked about on my blog, ever. So forget I mentioned them. Seriously, move along. This never happened.
