I was running around Manhattan yesterday doing various things. I don’t usually take the Times Square Shuttle. It only runs between Grand Central Station and Times Square, and I would usually just walk it. But it was almost 90º yesterday and I was coming from another subway line, so I took it. I think I’ve only been on it a couple other times, on days that were so cold I was happy to be underground where it was marginally less frigid.

The car about to leave was bright red and completely wrapped—inside and out—in an ad for the upcoming PS4 game Marvel Spider-Man. It was really well done! Inside the car, the seats had trompe l’oeil copies of The Daily Bugle, and there were ads for The Daily Bugle along the tops of the cars too, where normal ads are usually placed.

Spider-Man himself graced the outside of the cars in all his web-slinging glory, and other parts of the cars spelled out his name.

Finding this special train should be pretty easy. Follow the signs in either the Times Square station or Grand Central Station to the shuttle (look for a gray “S”). The shuttle runs every 2–10 minutes depending on if it’s a weekday or weekend, and time of day. It just goes back and forth between the two stations (the trip takes about 90 seconds), so whatever train you see on one of the three tracks, that’s the train that you’ll keep seeing on that track.

There are usually two trains running, but during rush hour there are often three tracks in use. I have to imagine—but don’t know for sure—that with the amount of money PlayStation must be paying for this ad, that particular train will be in use as much as possible. I also don’t know how long it will be in service for, but the game comes out on September 7th, so hopefully at least until then.

In addition to the Marvel Spider-Man game, there’s also an entire PlayStation 4 Pro Limited Edition Spider-Man Console, which is of course painted red with the white Spider-Man symbol on top, and it comes with the new game and a red controller.
